Canada visit visa extension

Anyone know/had experience if a parent(holds a visit visa already) can visit Canada while visit visa extension is pending?

An extension can only be processed when the person is in Canada so this question doesn't quite make sense.

Let me give more information - My parents(are in India) holds visit visa, which is valid till Feb 2025. Originally parents expected to travel to Canada in June 2025 for this I have applied for another visit visa from India. But priority changed and parents are expected to travel next month, September 2024, my question here is - is it okay to travel to Canada while application is pending?

sorry to hijack, what would the process have been in case they would travel in Sep 2024 and then apply for visa from inside Canada (considering their visa is valid till Feb 2025)
1. Are they allowed to do so ?
2. Would it be called visa extension ? or new visa ?
3. Would they get another 10 yrs visa or some lower validity ?

I don't understand what they are trying to do. A new TRV and an extension are two entirely different things.

Got it, on that note, I assume they can apply for new TRV from inside Canada ?

No. They can only apply for an extension. An extension only allows them to remain longer in Canada on their current visit.

If they want a new TRV, application needs to be submitted outside of Canada.
