Lost status in 2016, in a common law relationship but want to apply PR under H&C Humanitarian Ground

Hello, I would like to get some opinions.
I came to Canada with a study permit in 2008, and attended University. However my permit expired in 2016 and I did not renew it since then. After that I took subcontracting work every year from my common law boyfriend, and I file tax income every year. All the income I filed tax is using my expired SIN starting with 9. Right now I would like to apply PR status through H&C Humanitarian Ground, not through common law sponsorship, because our relationship is very fragile recently that I do not want to reply on him. Is there still any chance?

You can certainly apply but unless you have strong H&C grounds may be extremely difficult to be approved. Assume you also don’t have a valid passport which also could be problematic. H&C may put you on the radar and does’t prevent deportation. Always shocking to see how incompetent CRA is.
