Hi
My friend needs a coop work permit for his coop starting in September but he hasnt received a coop work permit since the application time is almost sy 3 months.
Is it feasible that he can do flagpollig at one of the 3 ontario borders? Any tips/suggestions?
Also can i (a pgwp holder accompany him throughout the whole process) crossing towards and usa and coming back without any issues ?
He is new to canada hence doesnt have a drivers license to cross by himself.

hi
Flagpole can be done on Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday starting 8 am.
do u both have US visitor visas?
u can definitely accompany him if u have USA visitor visa.
You don’t actually drive in most flagpole situations except to the entry of the Canadian border. You should not go with your friend to flagpole although you can sit waiting for them in the CBSA office. If your friend is at a co-op stage they aren’t a newcomer and should speak very good English or French not to mention they are an adult.Hi

Show up at 7am. yes they accept a limited amount of flagpole cases in many borders especially the larger busier borders. Many people are waiting before they accept cases at 8am although does depend on the day and border. No way to tell in advance. Thanks
Are there any quota that cbsa has for a day and if yes how can we make sure that we don’t fall outside that for the particular day
Not sure how early you should show up but wouldn’t risk just showing up at 8am. Only possible Tuesday- ThursdayWe are thinking that he can do a walkin at the rainbow bridge and that i drop him off at 6 am at the border
wyt should we do at any of the other 2 for better chances?
Yes go first thing but don’t know how early you should go. 7:55am may be fine one day but not another. You should definitely aim to be there before 8am. Nobody can predict how many people will also show up that day at that border. So you suggest going early to increase chances of success
There is no harm in going with him. Please don’t misguideYou don’t actually drive in most flagpole situations except to the entry of the Canadian border. As per my experience we reached 7:30 at US border they took our passports and asked us to wait till 8 at 8 am US officer handed over the passports to all applicants trying for flagpole.Yes go first thing but don’t know how early you should go. 7:55am may be fine one day but not another. It is a huge waste of resources and will piss off US border patrol and CBSA. US has already made it very clear they think flagpoling is taking up too much of their resources which is why you can no longer apply for PGWP at land border. An adult can go through the flagpoling process alone. There is no harm in going with him. Please don’t misguide
U can go with him. In US u can even go inside with him. While returning back to Canada u can wait in car outside office.
Why in gods name do you think they restricted flagpoling at the border for pgwp ?There is no harm in going with him. Please don’t misguide

Dear I believe not allowing flagpole for PGWP and going with someone to help and support for flagpole, both are 2 diff things. It is a huge waste of resources and will piss off US border patrol and CBSA.
