What were reasons for refusal? What is the error in law to ask for reconsideration? Usually you reapply and address reasons for refusal. MP cannot help with reconsideration because he/she has to be convinced there is an error in the law. So they would need to review your documentation and assess the errors. Not sure they will do that for you. Plus it is through webform and you do that. Not sure why MP would be involved. Do you know the MP?

Using an MP is a waste of time, theirs and yours. They can't do anything, unlike in many 3rd world countries where politicians can officially be bribed.
Reason for refusal:I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay based on the following factors:
• Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel
I had shown cad 98000/ in readily available funds(cad 23000 in bank, remaining in mutual funds which can be converted in cash at a days notice) and had indicated that I will carry 7000 cad with me. My stay was going to be at my brothers house throughout the 2 weeks so no accommodation expenses on me. Since my main purpose of visit was to spend time with brother, i had kept the outdoors to only visiting niagara fall, toronto downtown and mississauga downtown. 3 Day trips only. Had attached all bank statements etc as evidence
In fixed assets, I had shown my three properties over cad 225k.

You had a reason to visit was too see downtown Mississauga ?
You are aware downtown Mississauga is just a mall, right ?
Properties are not a tie to return, They can be sold
Adding the MP’s are the ones that approved the legislation that visa approval is based upon
So in essence you’re looking for the mp to go against the legislation they approved by vote in Parliament
I think it is if you are single, but that is my opinion. You can try for reconsideration but there are no timelines so you may not know when or if they will look at your file.
I feel you are right, that may be the reason. Is there a timeframe within which one applies for reconsideration?
