Hi my dad is a retired police how are we supposed to answer the details of government service when he already filled out the form for details of police service? Is it necessary to fill out the details of govt service or just copy the same thing he had written on the police service. Im confused
Fill out the form they asked you to. Yes, it will mostly be the same information.

The question asks for “Number of ranks between you and the minister.”
What if the rank isn’t under a specific minister? For example- a DC isn’t under a minister but rather in the long run it’s under the Prime Minister. What do I do?

Regarding the "The Rank" Section in IMM0149 form:
1. What should i fill in the ran k section if I worked as a IT analyst for a provincial/municipal government
2. Also there was no chart of rank between my position and minister as I was IT analyst in public service
Please suggest!

A Prime Minister is a Minister - it's in the name. Stop over-thinking, they want a rough idea of the rank, it's never that exact anyway.

Hi I'm applying for PGP for my mother who is a Retired District Courts Employee. The Judiciary in India doesn't fall under any of the cabinet minister so which of the following options would you recommend to fill in the "Rank section"?

Option 1:

1. District & Sessions Judge
2. Additional District & Sessions Judge
3. Chief Judicial Magistrate
4. Civil Judge (Sr. Division)
5. Civil Judge (Jr. Division)
6. Reader
7. Stenographer
8. Assitant/Clerk
9. Process Server
10. Peon

1. 8 (Mother's Rank)
2. 6 (Ranks between the highest ranked district official and mother's rank)
3. 10 (Total ranks in the district)

Option 2:

1. Chief Justice of India
2. Chief Justice of Punjab & Haryana High Court
3. District & Sessions Judge
4. Additional District & Sessions Judge
5. Chief Judicial Magistrate
6. Civil Judge (Sr. Division)
7. Civil Judge (Jr. Division)
8. Reader
9. Stenographer
10. Assitant/Clerk
11. Process Server
12. Peon

1. 10 (Mother's Rank)
2. 8 (Ranks between the highest ranked and my mother)
3. 12 (Total ranks)

Please advise.

There's no single correct answer. I do not know for certain exactly how this would be answered for a provincial court employee in Canada either.

I am quite confident that whichever scheme you choose above, your mother will not have any issues. Just explain and provide title. IRCC is mostly only concerned about 'command' positions, and only barely concerned about roles that are not military/paramilitary.

Eg employed as an assistant/clerk, who is considered three ranks below a local district judge (reported to the court stenographer.)

Do not include the rank of 'peon' though, just leave that out.

Appreciate you prompt response. That makes sense.

Hi I know this is off topic for this forum. I have consulted with a immigration agent and not really satisfied with the response. Can you please clarify this for me? I'm applying for PGP application only for my mother. My father and both my maternal grandparents are deceased. We don't have a death certificate or know the exact day of the death of my grandmother but we do know the month and year. Can I put an approximate death date and provide an explanation? Would this be sufficient?

Appreciate it thanks

Thank you.
Hi Apologies for another off topic question, My family has moved to a different city and I have also moved to a different city in Canada since the time I submitted my interest to sponsor form in 2020. Do I need to provide letter of explanation or any proof of the move?

I also included a notarized legal document highlighting name changes for my mother which has the current address. Can that be accepted as proof?

If not, my mother resides with my elder brother who has a rental agreement proving the current address. Will that be accepted ?

Change of address proof for the sponsor is needed. I don't believe there was an address entered for the applicant in the interest to sponsor form but that's usually not a big concern for IRCC. Just include where she lived in the personal history.

Thank you. You are right. I also checked the Interest to Sponsor form.
