Extension visitor visa got refused cause of medical exam

Hello, I applied a extension visitor record for my dad at the first time and a medical exam was requested by at the same time the application showed to be approved so we didn’t do the medical exam because i forget to check mails while i got approval in paper

Last month, I applied the second extension for my dad. However, today we received a refusal letter stated the reason was he didn’t complete her medical exam and not to resubmit until there’s a medical results available. So my question in this case is what should we do? Should my dad conduct the medical exam using the expired medical exam form request and apply restored record once the results are available?


Has anyone been in this situation please provide me some advices on what to do. Thank you.

Your father was required to complete the medical exam as instructed by IRCC. He essentially received the first extension conditional on completing the medical, which he failed to do.

If he wants to remain in Canada, he will have to apply to restore his status. He is now out of status in Canada. Yes, he should complete a medical now and then apply to restore status with proof the medical has now been completed.

I don't think any of us can tell you what is going to happen. Your situation is unusual since most people do not fail to complete the medical.

Tue other issue is he has been visiting for at least a year likely so at a certain point he will be expected to return home.

I have the same problem right now. So what happened to your dad? Did you send him home after the refusal? Or did you do the medical exam here in canada? and then reapplied for an extension.

I sent the application to renew yesterday and sent a separate webform explaining the missed medical exam, I hoping for an approval if they just allow me to take my dad for a medical exam again.

I called ircc and I was advised that if the visa is not expired then he still got status. Even if you were not able to take the medical exam 30days from the date of approved extension.

So we took the medical exam, and re-applied for the extension. I included the medical record that was given to us, including the receipts as proof that we took the medical exam and it worked. My father got approved just a week after submitting it,

mind you He only had a few days before his visitor record expired and he still got approved.

my advice is go take the medical exam. It would cost around $450 but it was all worth it. You will be okay.

Was it denied due to lack of medical? You would have received a medical request. You can be denied an extension for many reasons.

Go book a medical exam authorized by IRCC, the list should be on the email requiring you to do the medical exam. Dont worry about the time frame, My dad only had like 5 days before my his visitor record expired and was able to finish everything. It was a 1 day process if you start in the morning.

Remember, you dont have to wait for the results of the medical, you can just submit anything you got from your medical exam like receipts or a copy of your medical record form

For submitting:

I forgot the actual name of that option but it was the last box to add files, if I should guess I think it was "additional info", im 90% certain im wrong of the term. Anyways just scan all new documents from the medical exam into 1 pdf file, should be easy. You can even use your phone, by taking pictures, then combine them. I used an app called fastscanner, anything will do.

Yes or no?
Because we are gonna just upload the record in additional info. Right

Hi I am in same situation did you get the medical exam and got extension.
Actually i went to medical they found my old medical form.
Which I have to submit in January,
What you did,
You got new form, or just filled old.

If you have taken the medical exam, even if the results are not available yet. Just choose "yes"

And the medical exam form I used was the same one from before. They can use it even if its dated awhile back.

Nope it will take 7-10 working days only.

Even though the processing time on the IRCC website says 98 days?
Did you get your result within 7-10 days recently?
