Hi Everyone,

I am an IT consultant with almost 16 Years of Experience, and I have more than 2 years of experience in Canada. I was a senior consultant till Aug/26/2023, and I have experience working on these NOC codes (21222 & 20012), because, at the Senior consultant level, we are supposed to take up some Managerial level duties as well to get the promotion. However, I applied for EOI in OINP under NOC#21222 from Sep/2022 till Aug/2023 due to my Job title as a senior consultant. However, I got promoted to Manager on Aug/27/2023 and applied for a Work permit extension under NOC#20012. Therefore, to get my OINP in sync with my new title Manager, I withdrew the previous EOI under NOC#21222 and reapplied under NOC#20012 in Sep/2023 because of my work permit extension and new title.

This week, I got the IAT from OINP under NOC#20012. although as per my score I am eligible for both 21222 and 20012.

Now my concern is, does this change of NOC due to promotion cause any issue to my Invitation & subsequently to my PNP application? Please let me know if you anyone of faced the same situation. Thank you.

Please note that I have been working under the same stream, industry, and company, same project and still performing 21222 and 20012 activities, gradually my 21222 duties will reduce, and the 20012 ones will increase.

I dont think this will be an issue because you got a different position in the similar NOC. However, you must inforn the provincial nominee program of that change and they will decide on the outcome. You must advise them of the change

Just mail them informing them about the change with a promotion letter/updated offer letter
Hi, what's your status now? My job duties are almost same but I am in the talk to get a promotion with a title change from a Front End Developer to a Software Developer but my duties mostly aligns with Web Developer NOC code which is 21234. Under the Front End Developer title I have worked for 10 months now so would it be a good idea to just delay the promotion for 2 months until I have 12 months of experience under the Front End Developer title as under Federal Skilled Worker program the experience needs to be continuous for 1 years under the same NOC code. My NOC code remains same based on my duties but I got a raise and title change so am confused what to do. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hey good to hear that you will be getting a raise!!
As far as OINP is concerned, I had a talk with their representative and they told me that , it shouldn’t be an issue as long as NOC will remain unchanged. Also I got the nomination with in a few weeks.
I hope this helps and good luck with your process.
