Hi, I will be study in Alberta and I want to know if is there any financial support that I can get. I'm not talking about loans or anything with a payback.

So what kind of support if not a loan. Since you have an approved study permit, you showed the funds to support your studies. There is no government support. You can look into regional scholarships/bursaries in your country or see if the school has any. There are few scholarships/bursaries for international students. Most are for domestic students.

Or you can work up to 24 hours per week.

Your posting doesn’t make sense . In another posting you’re asking about trying to rent a place in Calgary. How are you going to pay the rent ?

The financial support would be what you’re bringing with you . It’s self support

If you can’t fund yourself you should seriously think what you’re doing

You are an international student who has yet to move to Canada and already asking if you can be on social assistance…and you wonder what is the matter with us. You are moving to Alberta, the most conservative province, and wanting a hand-out already without paying any taxes or supporting CPP/EI. Go on the Alberta site and do some research. But to get it most likely, you need to be PR, have no money and not able to work. If you can work and still afford to go to school, there probably are no programs for you. Maybe your school has a food bank. Or go to the local immigration centre and see if they have money to give you.

You will most likely claim all your taxes back and get some support from food bank. Also, if you are under the notion that you can work and cover living cost, you are in for a rude awakening.

Unfortunately low income programs target PRs and citizens and are not open to international students.

You options are to see if your school offers scholarships. As others mentioned, you can also make money through a part time role. I would recommend by speaking with your school first and good luck.

No free money . You are supposed to bring 20K GIC money with you. As a international you are responsible for your own expenses and money. No one is giving free money.

Now that is a proper answer that other salty Canadians couldn't give, so thank you.

Who the hell are you ? Is it really hard for you to give a proper answer at first ? If you don't have anything to contribute just do not comment and keep it to yourself.
