I am 40 now so pushing the boundaries so I don't think express entry without PNP is for me now despite having a degree and a masters both in business management.

Question is, I worked as a dental practice manager for many years since 2011 with the last 3 years focused on HR so I am claiming these under relevant NOC as HR Professional.

My only issue is calculating the years before as their is no NOC code for a dental practice manager, I am hoping that between 2011 - 2021 I could be claim NOC 12101 Human resources and recruitment officers from when I was a dental practice manager (my role/job description covers about 85/90% of the NOC 12101 role description but this only represents about a third of my actual full job description, my concern is the risk that an immigration officer accept the most recent 3 years as HR but may try and allocated 7 years of the last 10 as the NOC for Managers in Healthcare and this is on the SINP exclusion list.

What is everyone's thoughts.

My only other option is to look for a job in Saskatchewan from the UK for an extra 30 points taking as without a job offer and claiming for 5 years work experience and a masters I get about 63 points.

SINP score is too low. 60 is the minimum. So you have ECA and IELTS. If NOC is on the exclusion list the work experience doesn’t count. Job offer will not give you 30 points. You need employer who is approved and you get a Job Approval Letter.

That is why I plan to claim the last 3 years as HR as that is my current role and is not on the excluded list, I don't loose anymore points till 45 so I work 2 more years in my current HR role and claim 5 years worth of points and apply for HR jobs to gain 30 for job offer points.

Chances of getting a job offer approved by SINP and getting JAL are low..just being honest. Employer would show they cannot hire HR person in Canada with experience or education, only you. Not having CHRP license is a negative because Canadian applicants will have it or be able to get it more easlily. People think SINP is the easiest PR pathway.

Also SINP is very strict that education matches NOC and NOC only requires college education.

  • A college diploma in a field related to personnel management such as business administration, industrial relations, commerce or completion of a professional development program in personnel administration is usually required.
  • Certification as a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) may be required.
  • Some experience in a clerical or administrative position related to personnel administration may be required.
