Hi,

How did you guys able to adjust the brightness of the PR card photo before uploading it on the portal?

It keeps saying either too bright or too dark.

Any tips and tricks would be highly appreciated.

Thank you

Is your photo professionally taken? If it's correctly taken then there should be nothing to adjust. If it's not, there maybe dark or bright spots and no postprocessing will do it right. The lighting must be uniform, no shadows.

If the photo is professionally taken, go back to the store and tell them they need to retake it.

If not professionally taken, get it professionally taken to avoid issues including the risk that it will be later refused even if accepted by the site.

Photo is professionally taken with proper lighting setup. I wouldnt upload it from a phone.

I dont think there is anything wrong with the photo.

I heard many people having hard time uploading the photo for the PR card as well. Thank you

They actually removed the possibility of self made photos. At one point they even allowed selfies if they satisfy the criteria. https://web.archive.org/web/20230921202358/https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/pr-confirmation-portal.html
Apparently for the very reason that it is practically impossible to take a photo without proper lighting setup which 99% of people do not have at home.
Ah - I didn't realize that. Makes sense.
