Hello friends. Need some suggestion.

I lived with my family in USA from Jul-2012 to Sep-2018 thru H1B visa. My daughter was born in USA during that time and she is an USA citizen. After that I had to go back to my home country as H1B visa expired. Then by Apr-2019 I got Canadian PR approved and landed in Canada. I am thinking to go back to USA to visit my friends.

1) Can I apply for USA visitor visa now as its only 7 months after I last exited USA. Will there be any problem because of the short duration in which I am applying for visa to go back to USA.
2) What documents/ties should I show to ensure my return back to Canada
3) Is there any website that lists out the details of visitor visa process and steps to be followed for Canadian PR holders.

Thanks!!
1. It depends on case to case and officer to officer. We moved to canada from US in jan2017 and my wife applied for b2 in Aug2017, No issues even though she was not working. I still work in US, not sure if that makes difference. But i know that for some work permit candidates many faced issues like why candidate is not working and why they need visa and will you come back or settle there etc.....
2. Thats the requirement for B2 as you are supposed to show ties to return back. So employment in Canada would be great asset and the time you stayed in Canada too. But again, it all depends.
3. No difference than any person applying for B2 from some other country. Just need to show ties in the country of residence such as job, family, business/assets etc.

I recently became a permanent resident of Canada. I have been staying in Canada since September 2021. I was a student, then on work permit and this month I became a permanent resident. I am working as a field engineer in the construction industry for the past 1.5 years in Canada. In March 2024 my parents came to USA as greencard holders. I have applied for a US visitor visa appointment on August 2024. How are my chances of approval?.

I do not plan on staying in the US since I have a good job in Canada. I am only planning to visit my parents.

Also how should I tell the visa officer about my parents Green Card? Can I get a rejection just because of that?

Any help will be appreciated!

Thanks in advance!!

When you’re asked what or who you’re going to visiting what are you going to say ?

Should you tell ? Seriously

You realize by lying you could get a permanent bar to enter the USA

Why do people think lying or misrepresenting themselves is acceptable? Seriously. Be better

I am not planning to hide the fact that my parents are greencard holders. I haven't mentioned anywhere in my post that I am planning to lie or misrepresent.

When the officer asks I am planning to disclose the fact that my parents are greencard holders and I want a visa to visit them.
What I want to know is whether my parents being green card holders can be a reson for rejection.

Can you help me know more about that?

Can someone who has overstayed their time in the US and is under a bar because of the overstay apply for some kind of waiver to attend a function in the US? The person is now a Canadian PR, has strong ties to Canada and their home country and is very gainfully employed in Canada. What are the chances of getting visa even for a week just to attend the event?

Found via Google

Doesn’t matter if the trip is for a day , week or month
The United States is extremely strict versus our joke of a system

You can find information about some of the waivers or forms of relief on the following form pages:
