I made a mistake in filling out visitor visa application, in the section where it says "have you been denied or refused visa in Canada or any other country " he checked no, only to realize I was refused a visitor visa for US before. It was an oversight which should be corrected.

I submitted the application 3 days before as today I took the following steps.

I have already sent a CSE addressing the issue and attached an updated IMM 5257e form.

I have also raised a request to withdrew the application.


Now I’m scared would I take a ban for 5 years for this idiotic mistake that I have committed.

You've already informed IRCC on your own, so you should be fine. Nothing to worry about.

For peace of mind, you could email the amended TRV application form + an explanation that this mistake was due to genuine oversight and you have informed IRCC on your own.... do send this to your local visa office (not just the CSE)
