I am Tenzin Seldon. I came to Canada as a refugee. Where I am from, we don't have last name. "Tenzin Seldon" is my first name. So when I first entered in Canada, Immigration officer told me that last name is a must to put me in the system. Then, they suggested that I should put LNU for my last name (LNU stand for Last Name Unknown). I agreed to it. However, at the time I had no idea that it will be a part of my name forever. Every single document and identity that I own right now has LNU as my last name. I hated my full name being Tenzin Seldon LNU. I applied to Ontario service to change my name to just "Tenzin Seldon" by requesting "Tenzin" as first name and "Seldon" as last name because I wanted to remove LNU. They told me that it should be corrected by IRCC. I submitted a webform requesting this name change over 2 months ago and I still haven't heard anything from IRCC. I don't know what process to take. I tried to call IRCC hundred of times but it never gets connected. Please does anyone know how to correct my name with IRCC and what process do I have to take??

Hi Tenzin- Is this resolved because for me also same issue.
If you cannot get IRCC to change it (you can try), your best and most reliable option may be to change via provincial change of name procedure.

Note, the 'normal' standard is to use whatever given names exist as family name (leaving given name empty) OR split the given names in order betwixt given and family name.
