Is there an alternative to the PGP program?

Hello! I'm new to this process (although not to this forum haha) and would like to sponsor my parents to immigrate to Canada. From what I understand, the Interest to Sponsor Form has been closed since 2020 and there are no predictions/indications as to when it will reopen for new candidates. Are people hopeful still about this process or has anyone found alternative ways to bring their family to Canada without this program? Thank you in advance.

Supervisa, TRV or parents immigrate based on own merit if young enough are alternatives. Supervisa allows parents to stay up to 10 years.

Correct. It's just a visitor visa.

No only PGP or immigration programs like Express Entry.

A supervisa is 10 years but the allowed visit is 5-7 years. People need to realize that parent sponsorship is not guaranteed. There is huge demand for limited spots and Canada has an ageing population and in a healthcare crisis. Not everyone will be able to have their parents gain PR and move to Canada.
