Doubt that will work.
Usually if you are employed the employer has to provide the letter
If you are self employed only in the scenario you can provide a self declaration
What would be the scenario if a person is not employed and want to apply for the OCI ? Did he still need employment letter ?

Hey I just confirmed from the BLS call center that you can write on a simple paper instead of on company's letter head about your general employment details and share your HR's contact details , and at the end you can self attested it by signing the letter, that will be also taken as legitimate employment letter

Thanks for the response

Thanks @abbas.pasha for the information. I am going through this thread to apply for OCI for myself and my family (spouse and minor son). I am clear about the documents that need to be uploaded online. However, for the documents that need to be sent through postal mail, could you please confirm if I am missing anything? Thank you.

Hi,

May I please know if the current passport is enough? Why are we sending citizenship certificate as well? Also, in the "document upload" there is no dropdown for address proof. Where did you upload the address proof?
