Mistake in COPR

I recently got my COPR. I noticed a mistake in my COPR where my dependent child name has an additional name which is not valid anymore as per her passport. I have informed IRCC using the web form while application is in process but they went ahead and printed the same name in the COPR. My child is not accompanying me in this travel and doesn’t have her own COPR. My COPR is expiring by Nov 2024 and I have to travel by May 2024. Already raised a webform about a month ago. But no response yet
Can I travel to Canada and rectify her details in the border?

The issue is that it will take around 6 month for this to be fixed. I have read posts about people with wrong details such as wrong COB, no surname etc travel and amend it in port. But haven’t read anyone posting on wrong name on dependant name. And who is non accompanying. Was wondering if I can still go ahead and amend it

You can still land with same COPR and ask CBSA officials to correct it. If they can’t fix , just follow above link and correct it while you are in Canada.

Similar issue on wife's COPR we received today. Her gender is mentioned as "Male". Planning to mail "Request to Amend" document but the COPR expiry is in 3 months and their website says their current processing time is 26 weeks. Not sure how to proceed with this.

Hi all,
Just an update. I contacted IRCC just to confirm if I can travel, they said its fine. However, the mistake I did was raising a webform as well. I got a reply from the the location that issued my COPR (Abu Dhabi Embassy of Canada) stating that they cancelled old COPR and a new one will be issued. it took around 2 months for them to reply. I submitted it and got the new COPR with new visa stamp in 15 days. Hope this helps.
My only advise is to check with IRCC if you are short of time before you travel. If you have plenty of time just raise a webform to the location that issued COPR.

Thanks for the update. May I ask, how did you contact IRCC in this case? I tried calling the VAC that processed my wife's COPR in Los Angeles but they were of no help.

Also, I am glad I didn't raise the webform as I was planning to do it tonight and our COPR is expiring in 3 months. I have already had IMM1436 COPR amendment form mailed and delivered to Operations Support Center couple of days ago but haven't heard from them yet.

Thanks. I called the number and they told me the exact opposite information. They said that information cannot be corrected at the port of entry and asked me to raise a web form ASAP and get that information corrected through that .

I have sent it on 17t of May 2024. Still I'm waiting for that. Bit worried that e are planning to travel outside by end of August 2024. anyone has the same problem ?

I am in a similar situation & need to travel in November. My given name is misspelled by a single letter. Mailed my amendment application yesterday but the processing time is 25 weeks. I'm hoping they have some guidelines for travel while copr amendment is pending since this is a mistake on their end. Does your PR card also have the incorrect name?

You have the same situation with my husband. We haven't heard any updates from IRCC since we applied for ammendment last April 2024. He wants to travel outside Canada due to family emergency but didn't sure if he can travel back to Canada without any issue with immigration.
