Hello Everyone:

Applied for PR through AIP Stream - August 14, 2023
Received AOR: September 8, 2023
Informed Marriage: December 29, 2023
Received ADR: February 14, 2024

I submitted the documents requested on Feb 29, 2024. Since then there have been no updates.

Does anybody know if adding a spouse to your existing application extends the timeline?

Hi there,

I'm in a similar kind of position, I have the settlement plan and employment letter from my employer but haven't submitted the final endorsement application yet. I got married in between this process before I could submit the application. Would you recommend doing everything from the scratch or should I just submit and update the marriage information later?

Also, we have submitted an Spousal Open Work Permit application of my spouse from my home country, which is under process. Can this impact the AIP application?

It's illegal not to report marriage, divorce, new child to immigration while any of your applications is under process, especially PR.

If you inform them later, it would lead to misleading information and your PR will be adversely affected. So, you don't have any option other than to report them your actual status.

From my experience, I would advise you to include your spouse along with your PR application. It will be quick

Thanks for your reply. I will keep that in mind while applying!!

Also, now that SOWP has been applied, should I mention that as well in my AIP application?

or do I need to wait until a decision of SOWP application has been made?

Go ahead with AIP application (including your spouse)

No need to do anything for SOWP. Leave it as is
Thanks again, I really appreciate your input. One last question if you know please.

So just to confirm, when SOWP and AIP applications would be in parallel, they won't have an impact on each other right?
