Best phone roaming plan

Hi,

I've got a Canadian number with Fido and I am soft landing in Canada. I would be returning to india next week and want to keep receiving calls and texts on my canadian number (I am expecting calls from recruiters and receive texts for 2FA). The carriers would charge 15$/day for a roaming plan which is exorbitant. Could someone please guide me how I can keep an active canadian number while being in India for next 6 months. I plan on returning in December 2024.

Use an app like textnow or talkatone. You can either have the free plan or pay 10-15 to lock in a number.
