Study permit extension 2023

Hey guys any advise,
My brother stupidly didn't renew his study permit before expiry which expired dec 1st 2023 because that was his last semester. Unfortunately he has to retake just one course and now he has no status and needs to apply for restoration. Any advice on how to avoid a refusal and the processing time for restoration?

So he isn’t studying or working if his study permit expired on December 1. He had to renew prior to December 1. He had to stop studying and working at time. All he can do is apply for restoration along with study permit extension. Hopefully it comes before the next semester so he can take the one course.

Hi! I applied for study permit extension together with requests for extension of my spouse's SOWP and my daughter's SP on December 5, 2022. Still nothing. eligibility review hasn't started. I learnt that another student in my class applied and got her extension in a month last summer, but she applied alone and she was Iranian maybe they accelerated her application due to the situation in her country. not sure. but normally ppl get an extension in 4 months as far as I see. lets inform each other here re the process of our applications.

Did u get decision from ircc? i applied for extension dec 03, 2023. nothing so far

Update!!
My brother applied for the restoration and attached a proof of registration for summer semester,with official letter from his school and a letter of explanation about his situation. He got approved after 2 months thank God .

congrats, that must have been along wait, do you think it takes on average 6 months when applied with spouse

Hi guys. I had applied for my study permit extension and sowp extension on jan 21st 2024. After long wait I received it on 26 june today. Got my correspondence letter yesterday. I hope all of you too soon get your aprroval. During my stressful period i used to look through this thread and it gave me courage when feeling demotivated. Thank you to all.

Hi there,
I'm currently in a tight situation. My study permit will expire on July 30, 2024 and my studies will end in August 2024. So I already applied for an extension on Mar 8, 2024 but till date haven't got any response. I am currently working part time, the contract is till end of August. I know I can study even on maintained status but my concern is "Can I work on maintained status after July 30". Please if anyone has any idea about this, please let me know. Any insights, would help. Hi everyone
I applied for my study permit ext co-op work permit and sowp ext, all inland, on April 26th 2024. When I called IRCC for the updates it just says Background check I progress.

Is there anyone with the same timeline?
