Hi there,

I am a Canadian Citizen who applied for my sister's visitor visa for my marriage to a Canadian citizen in October. The visa was rejected, and the reason given are as follows:

• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-2002-227/ section-179.html). I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will leave Canada, based on the following factors:

• Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel for yourself (and any accompanying family member(s), if applicable).
• The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details you have provided in your application.

My sister is 25 and Single. I submitted my account information with 20K CAD in savings, my NOA, my sister's employment letter and invitation letter stating she will be living with me, and I will make sure she leaves after the end of stay. My parents have supervisa and they were selected for the parents/grandparents PR lottery.

I have requested the GCMS notes. Please help.

She is the one applying and must show her own funds to come to Canada. Your funds nor NOA are not relevant. So she includes her own bank account statements and you provide a letter of invitation that she is staying (not living) with you. How long was visit.

How much funds do you think she needs to show in her account for 2.5 weeks?
There is no set amount but needs to be enough to not use all savings to visit Canada. Minimum $10k is always a good baseline for one person.

The second bullet is a general statement that could mean many things - all family in Canada, not strong ties to return - so may want GCMS notes.
