Flagpoling with my spouse

Hi all,

My wife is in canada on a TRV and she received her PPR and we sent the passport to our home country and it's been stamped and returned. We intend to flagpole at one of the land borders to activate her status. My question is, can I drive with her to the border for the flag poling ? I'm a Canadian citizen. What do I tell the US border officials? Also is it possible to do this at the airport instead? Thanks

You can drive to the border and you tell US officer that you are flagpoling so you aren’t entering the US. You cannot do this at an airport.

Of course. You are a citizen so can flagpole. Just don’t enter the US. Some border crossing will only process so many work/study permits per day so maybe call ahead or get there very early. If you come late in the day, CBSA may say that their quota is filled for the day.
