If PR is refused, the BOWP expires too. You can leave if you want. A BOWP lets you work in Canada not re-enter Canada.

If you have valid BOWP and your PR application was refused, your BOWP remains valid till end of expiration date mentioned on it .

Are you in Canada because you asked about leaving? The reason you are getting mixed reviews is because IRCC can but may revoke BOWP if PR is refused. You will not know until PR is refused.

If your application for permanent residence is refused while you are on a valid Bridging Open Work Permit, you may continue to work on that permit as long as it not revoked. It answered all your questions as I told you above.
