Hi Everyone.

I got my PR last year June 2023. I am planning to get married later this year 2024.

Can someone please tell me what is the fastest way to bring the spouse to Canada ?

According to this article[1] it say we can apply for Visitor visa as soon as we get AOR on the spouse PR application. How long does it take to get the AOR ?

Thank you in advance
AOR takes around 2 months. Note that you must be living in Canada to submit the spousal sponsorship application

Thank you for the reply.

Yes I have been living in Canada since 2021.

So 2 months for AOR and then approximately 1 month for Visitor visa after obtaining the AOR ?

Honestly!
I would suggest that your fiancé should get her TRV even before marriage so that, she can move with you to Canada after your marriage!

Hi Folks,

So I applied for my girl friend's (Now wife) visitor visa last August and received the rejection letter in October. The reason for rejection was

• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by
paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-2002-227/
section-179.html). I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will
leave Canada, based on the following factors:
• The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the
details you have provided in your application.

After that, we married in November and applied for Spousal sponsorship PR. Do you think her TRV rejection will affect the Spousal sponsorship application?

I think the question is more whether the PR application - with the AOR,, when you receive it - will affect the application (positively).

And the answer is it will probably affect how they assess it - with a higher likelihood of being approved - but no-one can tell you whether it will actually be approved.

Thanks for the reply Armoured.

The nondeterministic nature of this process is very confusing
