I just logged in and saw there is an update. My profile is updated on March 28th but when I scroll down and see I see that there is an update near my citizenship test which was previously updated on Feb 8th

Okay, maybe it was actually a glitch

Too many people with varying timelines have reported it. Interestingly only on this thread so maybe a 'good glitch'. Let's wait for the next few days to see what's changing in those applications.

Don't want to get too excited but everyone on this thread who got a GU applied between December 5th - 8th, please correct me if I'm wrong.

That's as big an indication of it likely being meaningful as any. Maybe one of them could call in today to see what it was.


At least I've convinced myself it is.

Cool, then let's keep waiting. We should start worrying in Dec 2024, otherwise we are within normal processing times.

Ordered by AOR dates, that a list of posters with GU updates today. Dont appear to be any commonality outside a few Western Canada applicants - although hard to draw any conclusions without knowing other aspects of individual applications. I suppose we know its not just applicants with Finger Prints who got the updates and they didnt come from historically fast case centers like Mississauga.

i called today and agent told me there is no update. She told they usually see the update first on their system

not always. I called in on the 7th to check if they received my FP and the phone agent said no update other than what im seeing on the tracker and that they "haven't received it yet". on the 8th it updated that FP received and date at the bottom in the history was the 5th. i dont think its a glitch and hopeful its a sign that they're starting back on dec applicants. sadly tho i dont have a GU on mine

You can only conclude with any level of certainty if ALL December 2023 applicants got it. As it is, only yourself and a few others have reported the update, and while the case centers may tell you there's no update, that is not to say it was a 'glitch'. A glitch was the October 27th Ghost update.

I just logged just to see and I also got a Ghost Update.
The last time my file was updated was Feb 20, 2024 when I passed the citizenship test
I applied Dec 11, 2023 and My AOR is Jan 2
Processing office Vancouver .

People from October 2022 up to June 2023 got that update. Not sure every single applicant within that period but a lot of them posted on this forum. It was later decided to be a system glitch. In this case, I haven't seen more than a couple people in other threads get GU - Most too are expected e.g. Jan/february applicants waiting for tests etc. - on here we have at least 10 people who have reported GUs today alone. That's some type of signal i think (or hope).

Exactly. I don't believe it was a glitch and folks quoting those call centre agents as gospel is not proving anything. The call centre agents themselves are contradictory.
