Hi Everyone.
I am a Canadian citizen and legally separated from my x-spouse. I am at a very high level of depression and anxiety. I got separated from my spouse right after my child was born. I has been 4 years ago, and the same year my father passed away in my home country back in 2021. Since then, I have gone into depression, and I don't realize it. I am the only person in my family who lives in Canada. My X-spouse and her whole family live in Canada. Once I separated from my x-spouse, I only had visit access for my 4-year-old child. When I meet my son, he looks physically perfect, but he is unable to walk yet and unable to speak. When I contacted his doctor, The doctor said that he is not a normal child; he has genetic disorders, and he will not be able to get normal in his life. This is all the information I got from his doctor last week. As I mentioned above, I was facing depression and anxiety. I have been on mental health sick leave since last three weeks after getting my child genetic disorder information from the doctor. I lost my emotions. I am crying all day. I am taking a depression tablet every day and waiting for a psychiatric appointment, as my family doctor suggested. I am not sure what to do now. I am 38 years old, male, living alone in Canada, and my entire family lives in South Asia. I am planning on applying for my younger brother's visit visa for my medical condition. My brother is a 28-year-old single. My mom doesn't want to come to Canada, which is why I want to apply for my brother's visa to help my mental health, as my mental health is critically ill and totally hopeless.

As my brother is single and 28 years old, what is his chance of getting the visitor visa?
I am on sick leave for 26 weeks.

Thanks

It's more about your brother's profile than yours. To be approved, he should show strong ties to his home country, show he has enough money to pay for his trip, and also demonstrate he has no plans on remaining in Canada long term. If he has previously traveled to counties requiring visas, that will help his case.

I am sorry to hear about your son’s diagnosis. The fact that you have been off of work for 26 weeks means that your mental health has been poor for quite some time not just recently. Have you considered traveling to see your family instead of them visiting you? Given that your brother is young and single it will likely be difficult for him to get a TRV but should try. It could take a few months to get a response so you flying to see them may allow you to get support more quickly. How did you get status in Canada? Have you considered talking to your ex-spouse since you are both having to process the diagnosis?
