Hey guy's,

I'm an international student under a SP and as usual there's some conditions on it such as :

1. NOT AUTHORIZED TO WORK IN CHILDCARE, PRIMARY/SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHING, HEALTH SERVICE FIELD OCCUPATIONS.
2. MUST LEAVE CANADA BY 2024/12/06
3. NOT VALID FOR EMPLOYMENT IN BUSINESS RELATED TO THE SEX TRADE SUCH AS STRIP CLUBS, MASSAGE PARLOURS OR ESCORT SERVICES.
4. THIS PERMIT DOES NOT AUTHORIZE THE HOLDER TO ENGAGE IN OFF CAMPUS EMPLOYMENT IN CANADA.
5. MAY ACCEPT EMPLOYMENT IN OR OFF CAMPUS IF MEETING ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AS PER R186(F), (V) or (W). MUST CEASE WORKING IF NO LONGER MEET THESE CRITERIAS.

Remarks/Observations: MAY ACCEPT EMPLOYMENT IN OR OFF CAMPUS IF MEETING ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AS PER R186(F), (V) or (W). MUST CEASE WORKING IF NO LONGER MEET THESE CRITERIAS.

I've done some research on the government website, UBC website and some forums and it seems that I won't need a WP to work off-campus since in met the criteria R186(V) such as following a professional training at a DLI from 6 months min. and with a diploma at the end.

Anyway, it seem a bit strange to me that conditions 4 and 5 are contridatory... Any thoughts about it?

I've sent an application for a SIN number, hope it will be fine. Otherwise the amendment process is a 3 to 7 months process so it's not worth it for me...

Thank you
Enjoy your day

Most likely Service Canada may refuse your application until IRCC amend by removing #4. Key word "May"

Hi, did you apply to amend your study permithave the same conditions on my study permit with you:
3. THIS PERMIT DOES NOT AUTHORIZE THE HOLDER TO ENGAGE IN OFF CAMPUS EMPLOYMENT IN CANADA.
4. MAY ACCEPT EMPLOYMENT IN OR OFF CAMPUS IF MEETING ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AS PER R186(F), (V) or (W). MUST CEASE WORKING IF NO LONGER MEET THESE CRITERIAS.

I didn’t realize I needed to amend my study permit, and I’ve already applied for an OWP a few months ago. Does anyone know if I should send a letter of explanation to IRCC through the web form? Thank you.
