Can I travel back to my home country (India) after applying for Canadian PR inland through PNP?

Hello everyone,

I hope you are doing well.

I am facing this dilemma for a long time now, I am a recent graduate from a university in Ontario, and have been facing trouble getting a job for several months now. Meanwhile, I applied for my Canadian PR inland through PNP (non-express entry) through Ontario Immigration Nomination Program (OINP)'s Masters Graduate Stream which does not require a job offer or work experience. I applied for the PR in the month of November 2023 and received AoR and finished biometrics in the month of February 2024.

What I am wondering is that will it be okay for me to travel back to India for a considerable amount of time while my PR is being processed? When will I be required to land back in Canada after I receive the Portal 1 email? Will I be considered an outland applicant by travelling back to India?

Thanks in advance.

You should email them and change your address on application. Your application will he considered as a outlander application.

Yes once you get PR approved, they will issue you a COPR and then you have to land Canada before expiry date of that COPR .
hi MISS BEE,i have a question to ask u as seem to give really great advices. Actually my work permit is expired and i am on maintained status right now. I am planning to go back to home country. But i am confused that if if i will get the ITA over here in express entry then will i be able to submit my profile from there and will that make any difference applying from here and there?
Also if i am submitting my file in canada after getting ITA and then going back, ofcourse i cant come bcz i will not have any status until i get ecopr. So can i submit portal 2 from india? do i need to mention anything to IRCC ?

You need to advise IRCC if you leave Canada and no longer qualify for eCOPR. You are typically asked to confirm that you are in Canada before receiving eCOPR.
