I am interested in applying for the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) program before I turn 35, which will be on March 13th. Could you please clarify what would be the last date to register myself in the Express Entry (EE) pool in order to still qualify for points as a 34-year-old? I have read online that once you receive the Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR), which usually only takes a few minutes, your profile gets locked. So, does that mean even if I receive my Invitation to Apply (ITA) after many months, I should still qualify for scores as a 34-year-old because I submitted my application when I was actually that age?

Submitting a profile doesn’t lock in your age. Lock in is when you get ITA, and submit your completed application and get AOR.

If I submit my profile a week before I turn 35 and receive my Invitation to Apply (ITA) after my birthday, which is March 13, 2024, will I claim points for a 35-year-old, even though I submitted my application when I was 34?

Submitting profile doesn’t lock in your age. So on March 13, you will lose points if you have not received ITA and submitted a PR application (AOR).

Yes, for 35 years old.

You did not submit an application when you were 34. You just submitted your profile.

Thank you.
What about my work experience. I have skilled work experience from May 2014-May 2016. If I don't receive my ITA before May 2024, I can only claim points for 1 year of work experience?

Thank you.

So you have one year of experience in the last 10 years? Will you have 67 points to be eligible for FSW?

Work experience is only locked in after you have received ITA and also submitted your complete application post ITA.
