Hello Guys,

I'm a PR in canada and I would want to bring my wife and child on TRV. What are the chances here? is this a straight forward scenario?
will the chances increase once I start the PR sponsorship for them?

Chances are better than they once were but not guaranteed. What province do you live in? Are you currently living in Canada? In many provinces your wife and child will not have access to apply for provincial healthcare until they have PRs or for a spouse until they get an OWP and start working (full-time work and job scheduled to last 6+ months is required to qualify for healthcare in Ontario for example). If children are 4+ they may also encounter issues registering for public school if they are a visitor. Processing for family sponsorship is relatively quick these days outside of Quebec so it doesn’t always make sense to apply for a TRV and potentially wait up to multiple months waiting to see if they get approved for a TRV especially if they end up being denied. They may get approved for sponsorship in close to 6 months at the moment.

Hello @canuck78 ,
I'm currently in India but will be back to Toronto End of this year and will apply for family sponsorship. Is it that fast I heard family sponsorship would take at least a year to get approved.

Depends on the country but if a simple application with no red flags and no interview required (shouldn’t need an interview in your case) should be less than 1 year with given processing times. Would suggest comparing to a few others with similar applications to see approximate processing times at the moment. Posted processing times are often not very accurate and always represent an average so can be much longer or shorter. What province will you be moving to?
