Background Verification Started but not Review of Eligibility

Yes I showed my own funds of course,I’ve paid full tuition and also GIC as well.
I’m From Nigeria.
Any idea if requesting for Gcms note would delay the application process any further?
I just need some sort of update about the Eligibility or any form of progress on my application to give me some hope.

If funds were only reason then all you can do is wait. Applications from Nigeria seem to always take longer than posted processing times. Good luck.

Just keep checking your portal, it will definitely change.
My Eligibility update changed to completed the same day I got BVL and PPR request.

It means they want to interview you. Why? Don’t know but maybe to see if you are a bona fide student given you should have applied for spousal sponsorship.

I have. But I can’t just let the study permit application go just like that because PR takes 1 years or more

But you could have applied. You can have 2 applications going at the same time. Different processes.

my spouse open work permit filed on oct 26th 2023 from India and medicals done biometric done .

now the status - processing background checks but review eligibility not started .

earlier 2 times application rejected .

what the next processing step ?

Hi,
We've applied for a Student Family Visa. Here's our application timeline:

• Lodged on December 30
• Biometrics Completed: January 03, 2024
• Medical Completed: January 05, 2024

Since then, there have been no updates. The tracker indicates that the background check is in progress, but the RE has not yet started. I'm feeling quite nervous due to recent changes in the law. Is anyone else in a similar situation?
