I am currently 6.5 months in waiting when processing time is less than 3 months! MP already inquired and web forms submitted.

They say they have handed it over to their immigration team and then no updates yet.

No, I don't think based on new rules, you would be able to make an new extension to SOWP, however, files already under process will be processed.
