Hello,
Looking for any insight please
I have applied via post for my PR card renewal before leaving Canada for emergency trip to Australia as it expired and I needed to leave regardless.
Then upon landing I have also applied for a PRTD via the portal seeing as I cannot enter Canada on my now expired PR card.
Is there any way to check the status of my PRTD application? I have only the submitted button still highlighted and I need to get home to Canada for my children.
I have heard no further communication, who can check on this?
Update on my PR card renewal from postal application says in my account it is now ‘In Process’ - any insight if this is likely to come through faster than the PRTD?
What do desperate residents need to do to get home for their families in such situations? I have children that start school in a week and applications were done in June - I feel very distraught!!!!!
Can I renounce PR (build it back when I’m home) and apply for an ETA? Is that a thing?
My flights are too expensive to change to go I go into the US and cross over land border. (This was my back up plan)
Thank you if you’ve read this to the end!!!!
