Hello I just need an advice. My parents applied for visitor record. Their 6 months of stay expired last Dec 16, 2023. We applied for visitor record November 10th, 2023. On January 5th, we received request for medical and Jan 8th got an In-Canada approval letter with the validity of Feb 02, 2024.

My questions are:

1. Is the validity given in the In-Canada approval letter will be the same as the one in the visitor record?
2. After doing the medical, should we submit the medical forms thru webform on the same application and they will be sending a new visitor record? Or should we apply a new visitor record attaching the medical forms?

Thank you for your help!

1. How long have your parents been visiting this trip? If this is their first attempt at an extension there is a good chance there has been an error and they were supposed to be granted a stay until 2025 not 2024. I would suggest applying for reconsideration. In the reconsideration I would suggest that there may have been an error due in the date and that these errors are fairly common right after the new year. Did IRCC intend to give an extension until February 2025 but wrote 2024.
2. Panel doctor that you saw in Canada will the result to IRCC directly

This is their first attempt to request for an extension. How can we apply for reconsideration?
