Hi! Im in UAE right now, under work permit, but im a citizen of the Philippines. I was in the Philippines when my I lodged my application during my 1 month vacation there. Is this the reason why my application decision is delayed?

Yes. You applied from a country you are not a residence of. You applied while on vacation. Background check would start in the Philippines. Then need to do checks in UAE. That can take many months.

Oh that explains why. People I know who submitted their application same time as me have already got their results. Is there anything I can do have it expedited? Would sending webforms help? For cases like this, would it take like more than 6 months? My classes start in April 2024

No way to expedite. Everyone wants faster processing. All you can do is wait. Send one webform.

Hi, I would like to ask someone who is/was undergoing background verification how long it took for them. My situation is that my eligibility was completed, and the background verification started later. It has been in progress for around 1 month now. And my entire application process has been ongoing for about 3 months. I would really appreciate your help!

Hi Lisa I am in undergoing background verification since October, my status so far only says eligibility was completed. I sent my application on October 12 2023. When did you send the yours? have you had more updates? Thank you for your information

hi Danny, did you apply with OWP or solo SP? I also submitted my application on October 12. Also with eligibility completed. Still waiting for background verification

Lisa sorry I sent my application like family sponsorship on July 15 2023 and October 12 was the last time that I got of message about eligibility so far waiting for the background verification

I submitted my document since first of june. my tracker Shows this information : Eligibility is completed,Background check is in progress. I submitted International mobility program (IMP) from iran. but I still waiting for the answer.
My lawyer said we must waiting in this stage.
what am i doing right now?
we passed more than 7.5 month.

Listen to your lawyer.. ircc slows down processing sometimes due to a lot of factors such as reached threshold for visas, countries applying to study permit, province of study, courses, etc.. just use your patience

As I said earlier my eligibility was completed. Background check is also inprogress .last night, I checked it again and the eligibility status has been changed to Not Started. What does this mean?
is this a good sign or not?
