debating between OINP vs Express entry directly

Guys...

I got a NOI from OINP. Currently sitting at 421. I got some questions that I will like you guys to address:

once the provincial nomination gives you +600 what is the time frame until PR?

The fact that you have to go towards the federal process after nomination makes the federal process faster or just about the same processing time as not being nominated?

It s slower with pnp. They treat pnp outland last.
This is my deduction i really regreate accepting nomination hahaja and ontario is just slow also so if u goy a direct ita it s the best thing

But there is no harm in applying, correct? Our profile stays within the express entry pool even if we have the NOI and submit the application, right?

I would like some guidance with the following:

I have a PGWP (extended) until April 2025. Two weeks ago, I got ITA to OINP Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker stream. I had created the file in March 2023, but simply forgot about it as I thought I was never going to get invited. When I received ITA, I researched and found that the timelines to get approved were around 4 months. So I saw this as a big opportunity, I rushed to try to get all the proper documents on time, and finally submitted everything on Dec 19th, 2023.

Now, a day after submitting the OINP application (and paying $1,500), I read that if you get approved you then have to apply for PR through the federal government and that process can take 1-2 years, which is shocking. I have an express entry profile and I will be hitting 500 points in June when I get my second year of Canadian experience.

So I was thinking if I should withdraw my OINP application to get the $1,500 refunded and just wait to get invited through Express Entry. If I don't withdraw my OINP, get approved and then get invited through Express Entry, I would loose the fees I paid for OINP.

Any thoughts or advice?

You can certainly withdraw and wait for EE. Obviously there's an element of risk to this and it's not guaranteed you will receive ITA through EE. So you have to be comfortable with that risk. That's only a decision you can make. None of us can make it for you

It is indeed a decision I have to take, I'm just trying to see different opinions before making a decision. I may have rushed on applying for OINP before doing a more thorough research on the whole process and timelines. Even if I withdraw and get the application fee refunded, I still spent some additional money on things like translating documents that I won't get back. I'm trying to see the bigger picture before making a final decision.

So my two cents is it depends how critically important PR is to you. If critically important, keep the OINP application in play. We've seen people here withdraw only for something to shift such as EE scores going higher or certain draws stopping and they don't end up getting ITA through EE. So that's the gamble.
