They asked for it for the visitor record but if I remembered correctly they asked in your application if you did a medical exam before. I guess for certain job you must do it.

Nothing yet. still waiting unfortunately. Was hoping to have it before IRCC goes on holiday break

I submitted mine 24th nov but no movement at all. Congrats on the fast approval. Did u already do medical?
It is due to Automated analytics with auto-triage. Timelines may slightly vary:
The triage function of the tools takes on most clerical and repetitive tasks related to sorting applications, allowing officers to focus their attention on assessing applications and making final decisions. The tools sort applications using rules developed by IRCC officers based on the legislative and regulatory criteria for the program. Files are directed to the correct officers for further processing based on office capabilities and officer expertise.
Did you use the same photo you submited in your inland spousal application or a different one?
I am not so sure about the photo requirements of the open work permit.
