Work permit extension

I am on open work permit , i have pending assault charges and it is taking long time to get into trail , and my work permit expiring soon , i have a valid Lmia , can i extend my work permit or can i apply for my PNP

You can submit the application to extend you work permit however to the best of my knowledge IRCC will not process the application it until your charges are resolved. Make sure you declare the charges in your application.
