Hi Everyone,

I have a question for the visitor visa application. My friend wants to visit Canada during the winter season to experience the winter activities but we have heard that for young people, applying without having any blood relations in Canada, the chances are that the visa will be rejected.

She is a working professional and having a full-time job working at a same company from four years. Her parents have a business so she is ready to submit all the supporting papers that they have enough balance that she won't stay in Canada and will return back.

1. Should she apply for her visa and her parents together (Her father being the main applicant)?
2. Can she apply for herself if she is applying for a particular winter event to attend in Canada?
3. Should she book a tour package which has the entire itinerary?

Thank you,
Vinesh Parekh.

1. How old is she? If over 22, she cannot apply with her father being the main applicants. She is her own, separate application.
2. Sure. Have a planned itinerary with costs.
3. She can do that to.

It is December 1 so is she planning to travel this upcoming winter? To get a TRV, she needs funds, travel history and strong ties to return. Her parents are not a tie if over 22. Her parents business is not a tie nor are business accounts counted as funds. All funds must be in her personal account. So her funds must show that she can afford to visit but not spend all her savings. She must have a job letter with approved leave and show anything she owns - property, business in her name etc. If she has travel history to the UK, NZ, AUS or US then that is good.

Thank you for your response on my query.

Yes she is 30 years old. Can she apply with not so much liquid funds but enough valuation of the property of at least $40,000 is required to show in the bank account?

Property is not liquid funds. She provides her own bank statements with cash in the banks. She is almost 30 so her parents funds, business, properties are not relevant. Is the property in her name and income property? If so that may be a tie to return.

There are many countries much closer where she can experience winter activities. IRCC will likely assume that you are in a relationship with your friend.

A visa for a winter vacation is never in any definition urgent.
