Stayed as a student in 2012 for around 2 years, can I count those towards the physical requirement of citizenship application. I am aware that stay on any other visa counts as half. I am only concern is about my stay was around 10 years ago.

No, it has to be within 5 years before the date you sign your application. So you can't count the 2 years in 2012 unfortunately.
