Your application is not in the Sydney office; it's in the Ottawa office. It's unclear why they haven't initiated your security and criminality checks yet, which is quite unusual. Your LPP won't start until you pass the security and criminality checks.
If it says secondary office is Sydney, it is with Sydney office. I am on the same boat as them, my primary office is Vancouver and secondary Sydney. Also my BG is not completed and LPP not started. Talk about the similarities.

Most applications list Sydney as a secondary office, including mine, but currently, my file is in Montreal. You can determine the current location of your file in the GCMS notes by checking the "PAPER FILE Office."

Hey!

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share my recent experiences regarding my application. It's been quite a journey, and I understand that many others may be facing similar challenges.

I've taken several steps to address my concerns, including submitting five GCMS notes, reaching out to my local MP, and applying for CSIS under the Privacy Act. While I did receive the details I requested on time, unfortunately, the information consistently reflects that the LPP has not started.

As of October 25th, there has been no progress in the status of my application, and it has been over six months since the initial test. It's been a bit disheartening, to be honest but I'm not losing hope, there is light at the end of the tunnel and I'm sure we'll be dome soon.

All the best and don't let this bother you too much.
I wonder is your CSIS showing that any security screening under process or just no security screening requested

My GCMS notes says PAPER FILE Office is Vancouver Citizenship, but pretty much every single process in the GCMS notes is assigned to RC-8090 and they are not started. So....may be you know some inner workings of IRCC that I don't know about

Yes, initially, all files are assigned the code RC-8090 by the Sydney office. However, once the local officer begins processing assessments on your file, this code will change. Currently, your file is being handled in Vancouver, not Sydney.

Sorry, but I really don't think so. RC-8090 doesn't show up on every single application and coincidentally, a lot of the ones with RC-8090 ended up with a significant delay in processing. I personally know a few people who had their files sent and completed only with Vancouver mentioned in their GCMS notes and fully completed in less than 6 months.

What is their secondary office on the GCMS note?

anyone got a notice for interview - what do they generally ask in the interview?
My partner had an interview this morning. Was asked to show the Passport, ID and PR card. Asked questions about travel , current job etc. Lasted for 6 minutes and in the end the officer said if there is something else, will reach out via email and if not, you would get an oath within couple of months

I had my interview on Thursday and was asked the same questions. The interviewer told me on the spot that she’s approving my application and I should expect an update in my LPP status soon. As of today, everything’s
Completed except citizenship ceremony. Currently waiting for oath invite.

For the folks that got an interview... do you know if interviews can be attended while outside of Canada? I've already cancelled my travel plans for the foreseeable future but wife and kids MUST travel soon (family concerns back home). Though i'm doubtful our files will progress any further till they get back... just wondering if interview is requested and if she can attend her interview from abroad. Finding conflicting answers on the forum.

I understand that an oath must be taken while in Canada, just asking about the interview.

Interview is usually accompanied by verification of application documents such as passport and ID. In theory, I think the interview can be done online but the verification part requires a face to face meeting.

In some of the interview notices, they specifically mention the candidate has to be in Canada, but in others there is no such restriction
