PRCard Renewal 2023

I recently renewed my PR card through the online application portal, here are some of my suggestions and observations:

- The online application portal is a hot mess. Be patient
- Do not crop your photo with the online cropping tool. It is hard to get it right. Just upload the entire photo and that's it.
-Residential addresses: The previous address's end date needs to match the next address's start date. Do not use special characters.
-All other fields: I think the character limit is 70. Avoid exceeding that, otherwise, your form won't save.

Now some of my other observations (I could be wrong, do your own due diligence) I did not get any application returned message with greyed-out view button on the portal But if you see it you can ignore it unless IRCC specifically sends you an email asking for more documents or information. This returned message is a good sign that your application has been picked up for processing.

Submitted Renewal online on 09/25. Have been checking portal daily for updates and trying to link application but kept saying application not found. Nothing was updated on portal still just says submitted. Received PR Card in mail today 11/09.

Submitted my application on 2nd Oct. after 20 days, portal was updated to "Payment Missing" as return reason. Submitted again and after a week, again returned with reason as Incomplete Application. This time called IRCC and was told that my first application is approved and card was already shipped a day ago....I was shocked to hear that..

I will put up a detailed post soon documenting how I compiled information and gathered various documentation.

For now, just posting timelines:

• Application type: Paper
• Application dispatched on: October 5, 2023. Canada Post's Xpresspost service with signature option to Sydney, Nova Scotia Office
• Delivered: October 10, 2023
• Email from donotreply@cic.gc.ca confirming application is received: Nov. 9, 2023. The email mentioned that my application was received on October 10, 2023
• GC Key link: Nov. 9, 2023. Please refer to birthplace details on CoPR- I entered exactly the same (Uppercase, space, format etc.) while linking my application and it worked on 1st attempt. After linking I was able to see 'Application Number'
• ECAS and GC Key status: Checked on Nov. 10, 2023
  • ECAS- Decision is made.
  • GC Key- Application is under review
• Follow-up with IRCC over call: Nov. 20, 2023. The agent told me everything looks good, no action items for me, and the application is still being reviewed
• GC Key status: Checked on Nov. 21, 2023 (I haven't received any email)-
  • Review of eligibility - November 21, 2023: Your eligibility has been reviewed. Please see the final decision below.
  • Final Decision- November 9, 2023 Your application was approved. We mailed your permanent resident card to you. Your card can take up to six weeks to arrive.

This community has been of tremendous help in deciding on paper vs online. I appreciate amazing fellow group members for sharing their experiences. My gut feeling became stronger than ever on proceeding ahead with the paper application due to processing times and it seems it's evident in my case too. I will edit this post once I receive the card. Meanwhile, happy to answer questions relevant to my case.

I received my renewed PR card today after submitting the online application. Here is the timeline:

Timeline:
PR obtained: April 2018
(Soft landing at the time multiple vistis and holidays to Canada, though nothing longer than one month. Established residence in August 2021).
Total days in Canada when PR renewal sent 736
Online renewal application submitted: 26th October 2023
No update, emails or change on online portal after submission. Status just says submitted.
Received new PR card in mail: 22 November 2023

Thanks bro. I am also in same boat. Wife did soft landing in Mar2018 and then went back. established residency in Sep 2021 and submitted renewal on 7 Nov 2023(Online after completing 737 days). Waiting for the update. Would you mind telling that you are in which city? @nomad12

I have a flight on dec 13th and applied for my pr renewal over three months ago. it has exceeded normal processing time and I have sent two webforms and no reply. I also contacted my MP and no update from her either. What am I supposed to do? I see people here getting their PR renewal during normal processing times, which makes me wonder whats happening to my application.

Follow-up with IRCC over call: Nov. 23, 2023. The agent told me your card has been mailed on 22 Nov 2023.

Total time 15 days from Submission to card mailed out

Hi All,
I got my pr card in mail today in less than a month after submitting the application through the online portal.
Application Submitted - 25 OCT 2023
A few days ago I saw an update on the portal with the message "Primary identification is not provided". I panicked but after going through the threads on this forum, i got to know that the portal message should be ignored.
