Hi everyone.
When my family first apply to come to Canada, I applied for study permit, husband for work permit and daughter (3 years old at the time) applied for study permit - suggestion of our agent in my country. Her visa got denied, because she was not 5 at the time, she was not in school age. After that, we applied for her TRV and she finally got approved for the same time as our permits.
I am about to apply for my PGWP. She is currently 4 years old. She wont be 5 until next summer. She is going to JK in Ontario, Does her application need to be a new TRV? a TRV extension? O study work permit?
I am really concerned about her new application being denied again.
Any advice is welcomed

She needs to apply for a study permit. As you have already pointed out she is going to JK which is why study permits should be applied for any children 4+. Although technically not necessary we are seeing many visa officers deny TRVs and tell people to apply for study permits for their children who are 4 or older. Some schools also want children to register with study permits. Wouldn’t be concerned about a study permit being denied given that you are already in Canada, if you meet the requirements to apply for a PGWP and you have the funds to support your family. If you are currently employed even better. When does her visitor record expire? Did the expiry date coincide with the expiry date of your study permit or did she get 6 months on her first entry and did you apply for an extension after that?

Hi!
Yes, she is going to JK, her school does not require her to have a study permit. If applying for a study permit for her, do we need proof of funds? Both my husband and I are currently employed in Canada, but most of our savings are gone at this point, we do not have big savings at this point. Her visitor record expires in March/24. Same date as my study permit and my husband's opw, we have never applied for an extension on her permit.

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply to me!

In general it would be better to show that you have savings or at least a job offer but there is no specific income requirement.

If applying for a study permit for her, what documents do we need? Can we apply all together with my PGWP extension?
