Hi all,

I am a Canadian citizen and my sister is in Canada since last 2 years as an international student. I want to get some information on how can she apply for PR and whether her being in Canada as an international student would reduce the application time or if the process would be different as compared to someone who is outside the country.

Applying from within Canada likely won't have any impact on processing times.

Most likely you cannot sponsor her and she will have to qualify and apply for PR on her own. You would only be able to sponsor her if you are unmarried/single, have no children, both of your parents are deceased and you have no other family members in Canada.

Your sister will need to spend time researching economic immigration programs like Express Entry to see what the requirements are for her to apply and what it takes to be selected.

Thank you for the information I'll pass it on to her
