Hello guys,

With a heavy heart, I want to state that my PGWP will expire on January 11th, 2024. I missed the deadline for the Public Policy-PGWP Extension 2023 by 11 days. I have a CEC profile, but my CRS score is low 484. So, I am not hoping to get an ITA before my PGWP expires...I know I have only 3 options right now to maintain my legal status in Canada. They are:

1. Study Permit
2. LMIA offer
3. Visitor Record

However, options 1 and 2 are expensive for me as I can not afford it. Option 3 won't work either for me as I am not allowed to work under visitor records. I want to know whether there is any other option for me. If I ask for a contract from my current employer will that be good enough to apply for a closed work permit or it has to be an LMIA? I have been feeling very frustrated and feeling down for the last few weeks as I am running out of options. Any help with information would be greatly appreciated.

If you want to continue working and don‘t have ITA and AOR, you need a LMIA. A job offer is not enough to apply for a closed work permit.
