Hi,

I've been living in Canada for 6 years (2 years international study and 4 years Skilled CEC - extended pgwp as a result of a public policy).

My CRS is 465 and I'm 34 years old.
CELPIP Score - L11,R8,S11,W10
WES Verified Degree.

I'm based in Ontario and working in STEM and I'm afraid I'll run out of time and be sent home.

Thoughts?

Learn French to level B1. Look at OINP with job offer.

What PNP program requires only a job letter and does not require a designated employer.
I understood that the Critical Pilot program was more specific to "designated employer" but others mention qualified employers - those that have been in operation for at least one year. I could be wrong, and please correct me if I'm mistaken.

At least submit an EOI.

Do you mean the NB critical worker pilot program? That one is for job offers with a list of specific / designated employers. So you would need to get a job with one of those specific employers.

I do not see a designated list for their Skilled Worker stream though.

and PEI for example is as follows:

Am I eligible?
To be eligible to apply for the PEI Skilled Worker stream you must:

  • have a full-time, non-seasonal (permanent or minimum of two years) job offer from a PEI employer in a high skilled occupation defined by the Training, Education, Experience, and Responsibility classification system as TEER category 0, 1, 2, or 3(link is external);
  • have at least two years of full‐time work experience in the past five years;
  • have a valid work permit to be working in Canada;
  • have legal status in the country of residence;
  • have completed a post‐secondary degree or diploma (minimum two-year program);
  • be between the ages of 18 and 59;
  • have sufficient English and/or French language ability to perform the job offered. Language ability can be verified by one of the following:

So you are looking at PEI and not NB. I'll admit I'm not familiar with the PEI program and don't know those details.

This is what I found for NB.

In order to be eligible under the New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream, candidates must:

  • Be between 19 and 55 years of age;
  • Have sufficient English or French to fulfill job duties. Applicants are asked to provide language test results from a designated testing organization with their application; a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4
    for English or Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) 4 for French in all four language (reading, writing, listening and speaking).
    • Applicants in semi- and low-skilled occupations (NOC levels C and D) are required to undergo mandatory testing at a designated testing agency and achieve a minimum standard of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4 across all four categories.
  • Have the education, qualifications, and/or licenses and certification needed to perform the job in New Brunswick. Applicants must have at least a high school level of education
  • Receive a genuine full-time, permanent offer of employment from an eligible New Brunswick employer;
    • The business must have been operating in the province for at least one year.
    • Applicants must demonstrate that they have been interviewed and hired by the future employer.
    • The job must be represented in one of the following NOC skill levels:
      • Skill levels 0, A, or B
      • Skill level C
      • Skill level D, Skill type 7, 8, or 9 as well as as NOC 6711 (Food Counter Attendants) and NOC 6731 (Light-duty Cleaners)
  • Demonstrate an intention to live and work in New Brunswick; and
  • Score a minimum of 60 points on a selection grid.

For that program, as of now you also have to demonstrate a minimum of six months of residency in the province at the time you apply. They are keeping that rule in place through to the end of 2023 at least. Not sure about next year. So you would need to make the move pretty soon to have time to meet that six month requirement (assuming they carry it over into next year) and apply and be accepted before your PGWP runs out. So it's an option, you would just need to make that move soon.
