Your wife’s mother name should be as per the name mentioned on the last bio page of your wife’s Indian passport
Follow the same format on the OCI application
Given name, surname
Or
Surname, given name

This happened with me. i sent by canada post after 3 agents of BLS confirmed it was okay to use CP on call. Mine was processed on 30th September and was ready for dipatch on 5th but they never sent it. When I called on 9th they said that I need to arrange pick up by canada post. But canada post doesnt do pick up and if they had told me this earlier I would have paid extra and gone with purolator. I fought with them so much almost everyday and complaining to consulate. Despite all of this those buggers sent me my Sc on 16th October. On call they still say we do no force people to use purolator. I was like then atleast u should tell people that they need to arrange a pick up with Canada post because if people hear that then they will give in to your greed and opt for purolator.
guys the entry visa reached Vancouver BLS but when i checked the status in OCI website it shows up no records. Any idea when it will show up on the BLS website for entry visa. Between i have OCI application in progress as well with Ack date 20th Oct vancouver mission.
What your wife's mother's passport has to do with this at all? Isn't your wife applying for OCI based on her own PIO status? If not ignore the rest. If yes read on.
Just write your wife's mother's name and father's name exactly as in your wife's passport. If your name is also in her passport, write spouse name also exactly as in there. Otherwise exatcly as in the marriage certificate. BLS and consulate will take your wife's passports (Indian and Canadian) as gospel. So fill up the application again, this time with all details as in supporting documents. I can't stress this enough. And, the supporting documents are wife's Canadian passport, wife's last Indian passport, surrender certificate, Marriage certificate and proof of address. For good measure include an employment letter. In case BLS has asked for any other documents include copies of them too.
Finally, if there is any inconsistency between the above documents (only the above one's), you will need affidavits where your wife affirms that these variants refer to the same thing assuming that is the case. Like middle name dropped in Canadian passport, place of birth changed from village to city or old place name to new etc. Nothing like that required for your wife's mother's name if you follow the above.
Once again, anything the BLS agent will see in the application that can be cross checked against enclosed documents should exactly match. Do not add unwanted documents like mother's passport into this mix. They are not a court of law --- they are stupid bureaucrats with an attitude.

Sorry, what are you trying to ask? You have an entry visa already processed and granted and it has reached Vancouver BLS? What are you waiting for to show up on BLS site? Between what and what is the OCI application?

Hi all! Me and my sibling are looking into getting our OCIs. Parents just got their OCI cards but did it through an agent. We want to try saving some $. Per the OCI checklist, I am a Type C (i): Application for OCI to Minor Children - Born in Canada / Foreign country applicant.
Situation: I live in Brampton - close to the BLS office. Travelling around January 15 (tickets not booked yet so have time). Parents just got their OCI. Wife (Canadian-born) also has an OCI - not sure if this is relevant.

- What's the est total cost? OCI Application [$345] + BLS Processing Fee [$7.4] + Courier [~$30 pick-up + $30 drop off] = ~$413 pre-tax. Am I missing anything aside from 13% tax, passport photos (~$15-$20) and fee for obtaining a Bank Draft / Money Order (~$10)?
- Professional Details of the applicant: Do I need to provide this? If I can easily obtain, does this help? what's an alternative?
- Given mid-Jan travel plans, should I be couriering my application or can I drop it off to BLS Brampton? I understand there are huge lines so assuming drop-off will be 2 day wait.
- If I do courier, do I also need to select Courier Originals Drop Off option ? Not sure if this is applicable for me...I will only be providing photo-copies of my parents passports/oci cards.
- Confirm if I have to provide my spouses OCI / information anywhere through this process as she is Canadian born and has had the OCI for several years prior to marriage. Someone confirm?
- Checklist questions
- Proof of Address: My Ontario Driver License was recently renewed so I only have the expired physical card and paper renewal. Should I be providing a photocopy of both of these documents to verify address? Alternatively I can provide a Utility bill.
- Professional Details of the applicant: Do I need to provide a letter for this?
- Copy of Parents Passports: Assuming these can be photo-copies correct?
- Is it worth the hassle of doing this on your own vs hiring an agent (quoted for ~$650/each for 6 week application timeline).

Applied for OCI last month by post and it was dormant for 2 weeks until I called BLS asking for status update. Then the very next day they emailed me saying my OCI application was rejected because the place of birth doesn't match my Indian passport. The trouble started 20 years ago when my first Indian passport was issued, they put my district's name instead of my city of birth. Now I thought I should rectify the 20-year-old mistake that had been haunting me - so I put in the correct city name in my Canadian passport.
Well, all is well? NO. Things have not improved since 20 years. The application instructions are so confusing - at one place it says fill in per Canadian passport and at another place it says fill in per Indian passport. And when I called BLS after the rejection, they said "Oh! You just have to file an affidavit". Well, my dear, nowhere in the instructions is an affidavit mentioned. Anyways, that may be because my situation is unique. I will just live with that disappointment. The 20-year haunting still continues.

Both of my applications acknowledged at OCI website on 01 NOV.
My travel date is 16 DEC.
What you guys think about the chances for receiving OCI before travel date?
Should I consider applying for Entry VISA?

Chances are good that you will receive the OCI in your hand hopefully by end of this month or first week of Dec

If current timeline do not change then you will get it processed by Nov 23rd (22 days) and in hand by Nov 30th. Keep an eye on the trend. If you see it is increasing from existing 21 to 22 days from acknowledgement, then immediately apply for entry visa to be on safer side.
