Hello Everyone,
I have a significant question regarding obtaining a 3-year work permit under the TS2023 program.
I completed my studies in Canada and currently hold a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) valid until August 2025. I'm actively pursuing permanent residency (PR), but the eligibility criteria have very high score requirements. My concern is that I may not obtain PR before my PGWP expires in August 2025. As a potential solution, I'm considering applying for the TS2023 program. This program offers a 3-year work permit to individuals from Turkey or Syria who are in Canada, regardless of their current visa status (tourist, student, worker). If approved, I would receive a 3-year work permit.
My question is, if I apply for TS2023 and receive a work permit that's valid until November 2026, could there be any potential issues? To the best of my knowledge, I can hold both the PGWP and TS2023 work permit until they expire. In the unlikely event that the Canadian government introduces a program granting PR for PGWP holders(something like "TR to PR for PGWP Holders"), I would also be eligible (although I understand that this is a long shot).
What are your thoughts on this situation? Do you believe it's worthwhile for me to apply for TS2023 while still holding a PGWP? I appreciate any responses and insights.
Thank you
