I am currently on a closed WP valid till 10-Nov-2023. .

My Canada WP extension (closed) for 3 years was submitted on 04-Jun-2023. As per IRCC the current visa processing time for WP from inside Canada is 134 days therefore 134 days from 4th June'2023 is 16th Oct'2023.

Question :
(1) Since it is 2 weeks past the SLA for adjudication and IRCC have not responded is there a chance of denial ?
(2) If there is a denial , my employer will not go for a judicial review, can I apply for another type visa from inside Canada (preferably study permit )? If not study permit what should be the best way to continue in Canada in another visa.

1. Extension is not guaranteed but processing time is not an indication. If refused, change your status to visitor.
2. You can apply for a study permit if you can show career and education advancement. You want to show that you will have a better paying job when you return to home country. It will most likely be processed from home country so you want to show strong ties to return. If you want to continue to work in Canada, you need to find another employer willing to go through the LMIA process, and then apply for a closed work permit.
