NY VAC - Processing Timeline/Delays

How did you fill out the consent form? We're going to receive ours eventually but I've seen a lot of posts where people said not to fill out page 3 and then either leave page 4 blank or sign the "Do not wish to provide biometrics" section. Which did you go with?

If it’s not applicable to you, don’t fill it. We submitted blank because it was not applicable to us. Otherwise we typed everything and printed it our and hand signed it.

I saw a tweet where the person’s passport was held for 1 month in September 2023. Looks like NY Consulate is least bothered

I hope not, but I'm thinking it will come next week based on other timelines I've seen. With the Thanksgiving holiday earlier this week I expected there would be a little delay. I'm cautiously planning a soft landing trip for 22 November now with refundable flights

- Passport received at VFS NY on Sept 29, 2023
- Passport forwarded from VFS NY to IRCC on Sept 29, 2023
- Passport began processing at IRCC on Oct 3, 2023

Hi, my spouse had to leave the country so we emailed urgent processing. We got the passport this Monday, Oct 16, 2023. It was processed by IRCC-NY on Oct 11, 2023 and my application was closed in the tracker since. I’d recommend emailing them asap.

hey! i am in the same boat can you guide us how to reach out to them for urgent processing? They got out passport on oct 27 and on 11 oct i saw an update on cas tool that they have got our documents, we have an international travel coming up too. Your help is so much appreciated

Do you know if VFS sends two passports under sane application seperately to IRCC office? With two different tracking numbers for primary applicant and dependent? We got two different tracking IDs

Hi, they send it separately. It’s mentioned on the website.

Thanks! I was just wondering if they did it by mistake and now out passports are separated and that is why its taking so long… it will be a month on coming Wednesday since they got it. I dropped email for urgent request on the email you mentioned…how long will they take to respond??

Yeah our timelines our quite similar but it sounds like IRCC received your passports a week after mine. I can't advise much on having it urgently processed.. I have emailed IRCC's New York office last week to enquire about how much longer I should expect this to take and received no response. If you call they say that they will only assist Canadian citizens over the phone. How soon is your travel?

hey! I just got a message in the IRCC portal that the counterfoils are now in our passports, how much time it takes from here on to get it back?
