Thanks for your reply. Will this delay the application processing? Have you or others have had experience in having such errors corrected after the application was submitted?
It doesn't matter if it will delay processing. You have to correct this error. Right now you're risking not only a refusal but also a 5 year ban from Canada for misrepresentation.

Yes, others have submitted webforms successfully to correct misreprsentation errors. Don't wait. Do it now. You need to tell IRCC before they find this misrepresentation themselves.

Got it. I have applied through my attorneys. I have already informed them of this issue. The reason why I ask about the delay in processing is that my employer has been complaining about recent delays in visa processing due to COVID. So if this risks delaying the application I am worried whether they will rescind the offer hence I asked.

I am trying to get this corrected ASAP with the help of my lawyer. Will keep you posted.

Can't I withdraw the application and submit a new one? My application was submitted last week

Sure, you can also withdraw and resubmit. Your choice.

It is better you get a delay than a refusal. Even the delay might be negligible in relation with the time it would have taken before.

Hello Everyone,

I am in a slightly tricky situation and need your help. I am in USA and due to COVID I was laid off by previous company. Due to visa issues I cannot work in USA any longer and hence I am looking for job opportunities in Canada.

I was able to find a company that gave me a job offer and started my work permit processing which started as per this above thread. We submitted my work permit application 2 months back. However, due to a mistake made in the work permit form (described above) we had to withdraw the work permit application and submit it again.

Now, a company in USA has recently offered me a position which will also take care of the visa issues I was facing previously and thus it will enable me to continue my life and work in USA without disrupting me and my family.

My questions are -

1. If I decide to proceed with the USA job offer and ultimately withdraw my Canada work permit for a 2nd time will it affect any future PR or work permit applications in Canada? I have already withdrawn the application once due to a mistake in the form. The 2nd withdrawal will be due to the fact that I have decided not to go ahead with my employment in Canada

2. I am also applying for a PR. Will this 2nd withdrawal affect my chances or will IRCC put any undue scrutiny or unfavorable decision on my PR??

I request experts or experienced people to give their opinions?? Also, if there is anyone who knows a good lawyer or expert please share their links or contact details.

Thanks

Hello Everyone
Thank you for your interest in coming to Canada. I have reviewed your temporary resident visa (visitor visa) application and supporting documentation to assess whether you meet the requirements for a visitor visa (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/ services/visit-canada/eligibility.html). This includes assessing whether you are coming to Canada temporarily for the reason(s) you describe in your application. I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/I-2.5/index.html) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR) (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/sor-2002-227/ index.html).
=I am refusing your application. • I am not satisfied that you have truthfully answered all questions asked of you.
=The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details you have provided in your application.

I am unable to understand the reason for my refusal I answered everything right on which point they are telling me that. even on my GCMS note same words written... Please help me to understand this refusal actual reason.
Thanks

Did you fill out the application yourself? They suspect you have lied on the application. No one can give you advice without knowing how you answered each question or what information you included. Did you have a past refusal for any country that you didn’t acknowledge.

So did you declare the refusal on your application? If you didn’t then that is misrepresentation (lie). The question is have you ever been refused a visa, and your answer must have been YES. Doesn’t matter that it was later approved. Fortunately you didn’t get a PFL with a 5 year ban.
